Hello!
My name is Asenath Kwagalakwe, PhD
I recently completed my PhD in Geophysics at Virginia Tech, and I am excited to share that I started my postdoctoral researcher position at California State University, Northridge. I am now working with Dr. Eileen L. Evans on the project Linking Fault Slip and Near-Surface Deformation on the Southern San Andreas Fault at Mecca Hills, California.
My research interests focus on understanding how and why the Earth's lithosphere deforms in specific zones, such as fault zones and rift systems, across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales. I use precise measurements of ground motion (geodesy) alongside computational models of the Earth's interior (geodynamics) to investigate these localized deformation processes.
